Ingredients

6 Ripe plantains

3 Cinnamon sticks

6 Cloves

3 cups of Water

2 cups of Sugar

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : Peel the plantains and cut them into 2 cm slices or into 4 parts, or you can even leave them whole.

Step 2 : In a deep saucepan, place the sugar over low heat and wait for it to caramelize, acquiring a soft golden color.

Step 3 : Then, slowly pour in the water and let it boil for a few minutes.

Step 4 : Next, add the plantain slices, a pinch of salt, cloves, and cinnamon to the previous mixture.

Step 5 : Let it boil, making sure the sugar syrup doesn’t completely evaporate; if this happens, you can add a little more water.

Step 6 : Once the plantains are ready, remove them from the heat and let them cool in a deep container.
