Guatemalan braised beef is one of Guatemala's most traditional recipes. It's a beef stew prepared with meat, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and spices cooked until it forms a thick sauce.
Braised beef is a dish that requires a considerable amount of preparation time, especially for the cooking stage, but it is time well spent as it imparts an unparalleled flavor.
The juices thicken and give much more flavor to the vegetables. Additionally, the meat becomes tender (so you can use tougher, more economical cuts) and it turns out delicious.
Another wonderful aspect is that you can accompany it with anything on hand, whether it be a salad, tortillas, white rice, plantains, yuca, or potatoes.
