Ingredients

Rice with Chipilín

120 grams of Rice

1 Bunch of chipilín

3 Medium tomatoes

1 Medium onion, diced

3 Garlic cloves

2 cups of Water

15 milliliters of Vegetable oil

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation (simple version)

Step 1 : Wash the rice well and drain. Cook the chipilín leaves in salted water until soft, then drain and set aside. Rice with Chipilín - Preparation - Step 1

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare this delicious dish, first wash the rice well and drain it.

Step 2 : Then, wash the tomatoes, peel them, and finely chop.

Step 3 : Next, remove the leaves from the chipilín branches and cook the leaves with enough water and salt until they are soft.

Step 4 : Once ready, drain the water.

Step 5 : Then, chop the garlic and fry it with a little oil. Add the onion and then the tomato, placing this mixture over the cooked chipilín.

Step 6 : Next, sauté the rice with a bit of oil and add it to the cooked chipilín.

Step 7 : Add the 2 cups of water and cook for 15 to 20 minutes on low heat, covered with aluminum foil or a lid with steam vent.

Step 8 : Season with a little salt. When the rice is well cooked, remove from heat and serve.
