Ingredients

1 pound of Chicken pieces

1 Bell pepper

5 Tomatoes

2 Cinnamon sticks

1 Dried chili pepper

2 ounces of Squash seeds

2 ounces of Sesame seeds

4 ounces of Chocolate

2 cups of Corn flour

1 Stick of butter

Sugar

1 pinch of Salt

Plantain leaves

Preparation

Step 1 : In a skillet, brown the tomatoes, bell pepper, and dried chili pepper.

Step 2 : Meanwhile, in another skillet, brown the squash seeds, one cinnamon stick, and two ounces of sesame seeds.

Step 3 : Next, melt the chocolate in boiling water and blend it with the browned ingredients.

Step 4 : The resulting mixture is cooked in a pot with oil, seasoned with salt and sugar to taste, and boiled for 2 minutes.

Step 5 : In a medium pot, mix the corn flour with water, melted butter, and a cinnamon stick.

Step 6 : Then, boil until a dough is obtained.

Step 7 : To assemble the Guatemalan black tamales, place a portion of dough, add the sauce, chicken, and banana leaves, wrap it, and cook for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Step 8 : Once ready, remove from heat, let it cool, and ready to enjoy the delicious Guatemalan black tamales!
